ABOUT SARAHMy name is Sarah Stroud and I am an accounts administrator at a car dealership. I have an active social life and particularly enjoy going to the gym and trying as many new activities as I can such as Skiing, Fire Eating, Archery, Tank driving, Indoor Sky Diving, Sailing and Driving an assortment of different vehicles.I attended Aylesbury College of Further Education where I completed a series of City and Guild NVQ Level 1 and 2 qualifications in Catering and Hotel Management. With this grounding I knew that I wanted to specialise in cake design. I have largely taught myself from a combination of personal reading, research and from attending a series of night school classes and various one day workshops. I am also a member of the British Sugar Craft Guild and have had two of my cake photos published in the British Sugar Craft magazine. Cake decorating is a hobby that I am very passionate about. I get many hours of pleasure from creating a variety of cakes for different purposes. I am able to visualise the final 3-D version of the cake in my head from an early point in the design process. I then gain immense satisfaction from creating that design and also the response I receive from the recipient of my cakes. I now produce a wide variety of cakes for special occasions such as weddings, birthdays or anniversaries. I especially enjoy creating novelty cakes as I can really be adventurous with my creativity and produce something that is particularly personal to each individual. All of the cakes on this website have been made by Sarah Stroud. Most of the cakes are original designs and creations by Sarah. However, some cakes made by Sarah, often with her own special twists and adaptations, are designs sited in books by Lindy Smith, Debbie Brown and other cake decorators in various publications. I hope you get as much pleasure from viewing my cakes in the cake gallery as I have from creating them. The Cake Gallery The gallery contains a variety of stunning cakes that are in a category of their own. A multitude of auspicious occasions have been celebrated with one of these cakes. A cake in whatever form can be make it especially for you. Wedding Cakes Wedding cakes are much more than a wedding accessory. They are a symbol and personal expression of a couples love for each other. Each wedding cake is made in accordance with the couple’s wishes and enhanced by carefully matching the colour scheme of the day e.g. bridesmaid’s dresses, groom’s suites, etc. Birthdays All the birthday cakes have been designed and created to complement the personality, interests or age of the recipient. I pride myself on being able to create novelty cakes that have a personal significance and add that special something to any birthday celebrations. Novelty cakes are always a hit with both children and adults alike. Anniversary Cakes Each anniversary cake has been individually designed to represent an important milestone. These cakes have been made both for traditional anniversaries or occasions that mark the passing of the time that hold a unique significance. Models Models can be used to accompany and enhance the beauty of a cake or alternatively can stand on their own as a small gift or to brighten a corner of any home. From a simple idea or flash of inspiration models can be made in many shapes, sizes and forms, e.g. cartoon characters, comic caricatures of people, figures or animals. Sprays of Flowers Sprays of flowers can be kept for years. They can adorn a cake and then be kept in remembrance of that special occasion and as a visual aid of those many treasured moments. Equally they can be designed especially for a display within the home to offer colour, light and warmth that fresh flowers often bring. |
